Project Inception

SBC competitively tendered this design and build project, and following a post tender negotiation period SBC entered into contract with Tandridge District Council.

Project Journey

Following award of contract SBC completed the design concurrently with clearing pre-commencement planning conditions to enable a swift start of site.

The site is adjacent to a live railway track so to reduce risk to our client SBC obtained Network Asset protection Agreements, enabling SBC and Network Rail to work collaboratively ensuring works by either party had risks manged in partnership and works did not interrupt the progress of either business.

The site sits on a severe slope, so first activities on site were to enable the construction of a 4 meter high retaining wall which  split the site into two levels.  From here construction of the lower block commenced, which was swiftly followed by construction of the upper block.

Works are due to complete in August 2019.
